Consultant : Handicap International (HI)

Consultant wanted for:
Providing communication support on the creation of a regional inclusive disaster risk management (DRM) TOOL KIT.


Handicap International (HI) is an independent international solidarity organisation which works in situations of poverty, exclusion conflict and disaster. Working alongside persons with disabilities and people in vulnerable situations the association takes action and speaks out in order to meet their essential needs and improve their living conditions. HI is committed to campaigning to ensure their dignity is preserved and their fundamental rights upheld. HI is currently working in over 60 countries all over the world and has been working in South Asia since 1982.

We are looking for a consultant to work with our regional DRM team on the production of a regional inclusive DRM toolkit to be presented early May 2012 in an international workshop held in the region.

Expected deliverables:   The consultant is expected to work within HI Dhaka office during the period of the assignment and following HI working days and hours to contribute his/her communication and creative skills towards the production of the regional tool kit.

Profile of the Consultant: The expected competencies of the consultant should have:
  •     At least 2 years experience in communication and designing of communication materials at national or international level.
  •     Previous experience in the production of a professional technical tool destined for a large audience such as a toolkit or other similar document
  •     Experience in dealing with designers and other such contractors.
  •     Experience in creation of websites and / or website content management
  •     Fluent English written and writing
