PROGRAM Officer - Girls Education Program : Room to Read

Room to Read is an international non-profit organization working in Asia & Africa with focus on Literacy & Gender Equality in education. To know more, please visit: www.roomtoread.org. We are inviting applications from Bangladeshis to work in the following regular position:
 
PROGRAM Officer - Girls Education Program (Reports to: Program Manager - Girls Education Program)

Key Responsibilities: i) Identify schools and/or NGO partners; ii) Coordinate the process of selecting Girls Education Program participants; iii) Develop and maintain good working relationships with school, partner NGOs, government, parents and other stakeholders ; iv) Train and supervise the local management committees; v) Coordinate the purchase and distribution of scholarship materials to the; vi) Research activities; vii) Assist in Monitoring and Evaluation; viii) Coordinate annual data collection; ix) Design and implement life skills programs; x) Develop and help support partner organization staff to conduct mentoring and counseling activities; xi) Networking with similar organizations and activities; xii) Fulfilling reporting requirements; xiii) Prepare cost estimations and budget related other works; xiv) Continuously assess strategies to enhance the program’s impact and effectiveness; xv) Represent Room to Read at relevant meetings and occasionally assist in hosting key donor visits; xvi) Document and share best practices and lesson learned; xvii) Participate in any other activities to fulfill the objectives of the organization.

Position Specific Requirements:
i) Master’s degree; ii) 5 years of professional experience in education; iii) Strong planning, supervisory, and management skills; iv) Good knowledge and understanding of education issues, child issues, child at risk, including teaching methodologies and community involvement in schools; v) Advance degree in a related field (i.e. education, pedagogical techniques) vi) Experience developing and or implementing large-scale scholarship initiatives; vii) Prior experience working with vulnerable students, schools, teachers and government officials.

General Requirements: i) Willingness & ability to visit program sites extensively, ii) Skill & experience of working with e-communication & people with diverse culture, iii) Strong communication skills in English, iv) Excellent computer operating skill, v) Ability to work under pressure, vi) Comfortable in a performance-based organization working with low overhead budget.
